# Soundsensing

> Soundsensing is a Norwegian company that delivers acoustic and vibration based predictive maintenance for HVAC in commercial buildings. Plug-and-play sensors and AI detect developing faults, schedule deviations and energy waste weeks before equipment fails. Unlike BMS analytics or energy optimisation software, which read the controls and meter data a building already has, Soundsensing adds a physical sensor layer on the assets themselves and gives building owners independent proof of HVAC condition, with no reliance on the BMS or OEM models.

Proven results: the City of Oslo cut internal inspection rounds by 50 percent, saving 44,000 euro. Thon Eiendom retail parks reached positive ROI within 4 to 7 months. More than 1,500 sensors are live across more than 150 buildings.

Key facts:

- What it is: sensors install in minutes with no BMS wiring. Within about 30 days the AI builds a unique baseline per asset, independent of brand, model and age, then alerts on anomalies and early failure signs by email or API into the customer's ticketing system. One shared dashboard for owner, facility manager and maintenance partner.
- How it differs: BMS and fault detection software analyse data the building already collects, and energy software tunes control setpoints. Soundsensing measures the physical condition of the equipment directly, works on older installations, and needs no OEM model.
